PartSignal Marketplace Terms — draft for legal review
Do not publish before review by a South African attorney and the approved payment provider.
Marketplace role
PartSignal connects customers with independent automotive-parts suppliers. Each supplier is responsible for the accuracy, legality, condition and description of its parts. The final provider agreement must state whether PartSignal acts as agent, intermediary or merchant of record.
Protected payment
Customer payment is processed by an approved payment provider. PartSignal does not promise a bank or trust escrow service. A supplier payout remains blocked until customer acceptance, expiry of the stated inspection period without a dispute, or an administrator's documented resolution.
Commission
PartSignal charges the supplier a 10% commission on the part price for a successfully completed order. Courier charges and payment-processing charges are dealt with separately at checkout.
Condition and warranty
Suppliers must disclose whether a part is new, used, refurbished or sold for repair, provide supporting photographs, and state the offered warranty. Prohibited, stolen, unsafe or unlawfully sourced parts may not be listed or supplied.
Delivery and inspection
The inspection period is 48 hours from verified delivery. The customer must inspect promptly and either accept the order or report a material problem. Silence after the inspection period may authorise payout, subject to consumer law and unresolved courier or payment disputes.
Disputes and returns
PartSignal may request photographs, diagnostic reports, packaging evidence and courier records. The final policy must distinguish incorrect, damaged, defective and incorrectly ordered parts and must comply with the Consumer Protection Act and Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.
